WHALE WATCH KAIKŌURA CHILD POLICY

The following information outlines the Whale Watch Kaikōura policy for children participating in the Whale Watch tour experience, it is essential for the maximum enjoyment of our tours by our younger passengers that you read and understand our policy.

Policy: Minimum age for a child to travel on a whale watch tour. The minimum age limit for children traveling on a whale watch tour is 3yrs+, although Whale Watch Kaikōura maintains the right to raise the age limit depending on sea and weather conditions at the time of check-in. This decision is made by the skipper of the scheduled vessel and implemented by our Customer Service staff at check-in time.

Reasons for policy: 1. It has been deemed by skippers and management that for safety purposes the minimum age for travel is 3yrs+ but this can be raised depending on sea and weather conditions at the time of check-in. The skipper of the vessel has the final say on who can travel if customer safety is at risk. 2. It has been deemed due to the nature of the experience, the speed of the vessels, the ride of the vessels and the changeable conditions off our coastline that the tour is not fit for children under the age of 3yrs.
